A mad man tied his son to a street lamppost and tried to sell him as a slave to strangers.
Trying to get rid of his son, Yong Tsui offered the terrified child as a slave, putting a signal over a table with the youngster’s name and age and bragging of his capability for hard work.
But when bidders started to inquire how much the young man ate, furious bystanders attacked the father.
Yong told them the boy’s mother died three years ago and he could not afford to raise him.
According to the police: “He has no job, no home and no money. He says he wasn’t interested in money, just finding a home for the boy.”
Yong also said he was influenced by the story of a two-year-old Chinese boy who is in care after his parents chained him up while they worked to stop him being abducted.
