Italian Carabinieri fine driver for going over 1000Km/h

Italian driver was caught driving at over 1000Km/h. He got a 165€ fine and points on his licence for exceding the speed limit in the town of Orio, Italy.

This guy was driving a supersonic Fiat Doblo and topped 1,230km/h as the Carabineri ( that’s what they call policemen in Italy ) confirmed on their paperwork.

Getting a 165€ ticket for driving at 1230km/h when the speed limit is 90km/h can hardly be considered a tough punishment, right?

The document was signed off by two police officials before being sent onto the driver of the Fiat van so there is very little margin for a mistake and we have to assume this was a really pimped up Fiat Doblo.
